What is Sadaqah?

Voluntary charity, immense reward

Sadaqah is any act of voluntary charity given for the sake of Allah, at any time and in any amount, over and above the obligatory Zakat.

It is a means of purifying one's wealth, seeking forgiveness, and drawing closer to Allah.

Even a smile, a kind word, or removing something harmful from the road is considered a form of Sadaqah.
