Refund Policy
Our approach to refunds
Donations made to Muntada Aid are gifts and are non-refundable once they have been processed, as funds are often committed to our programmes quickly to support people in urgent need. We understand that mistakes can happen, and we will always consider a refund request made in good faith on a case-by-case basis.
When we will consider a refund
We will look to refund a donation where, for example:
- You made a duplicate donation in error (e.g. by submitting the same payment twice).
- You donated the wrong amount by mistake.
- Your donation was made fraudulently, without your authorisation.
- You made a genuine error in selecting the appeal, project, or donation type.
How to request a refund
Please contact us as soon as possible, and in any event within 14 days of your donation, at [email protected] or via our contact page. Please include your name, the date and amount of the donation, and the payment method used, so we can locate your transaction quickly.
Gift Aid
If you claimed Gift Aid on a donation that is later refunded, we will notify HMRC and adjust the Gift Aid claim accordingly. You do not need to take any action regarding Gift Aid yourself.
Regular (monthly) donations and Direct Debits
You can cancel a recurring donation at any time by contacting us or through your payment provider. Under the Direct Debit Guarantee, if an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit by Muntada Aid or our payment provider, you are entitled to a full and immediate refund from your bank or building society.
How refunds are issued
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method used for the donation and are usually processed within 5–10 business days, though your bank or card provider may take longer to show the funds in your account.
