The devastating civil war has left millions of people in Sudan struggling without the basics needed to survive.
With up to 150,000 people killed, the women and children are the worst affected in the ongoing conflict.
Over 33 million people need humanitarian aid
3.2 million children under five could suffer from acute malnutrition
Nearly 14 per cent (3.2 million) of the country’s population has been displaced
Almost half of the country’s health services are out of service
Muntada Aid has a long history of working in Sudan for almost three decades, providing education and emergency support.
Since 2023, we have supported over half a million people affected by the ongoing war.

Almost nine million people remain internally displaced in Sudan and hundreds and thousands lack access to basic emergency accommodation
Muntada in 2026, is planning to build a shelter village for 300 families with access to water and sanitation facilities.
We are also providing monthly food packs to each of the families living at the camp and access to education and health services.
Lack of toilets and washrooms is one of the biggest challenges people face living in IDP camps across Sudan. In some camps, there are only two toilets for a camp that hosts over a thousand people. This is one of the main causes of spreading disease among people, especially children.
In 2026, Muntada Aid is building toilet and washroom infrastructure at two such camps. These facilities will have at least 10-15 toilets and the same number of washrooms. Water will be provided through solar-powered water wells, and these facilities will be connected to a waste management system.

The aim of our Sudan Food Pack is to provide a family with enough provisions that will last them at least a month, providing daily food and nutrition requirements. Our food packs aim to provide both macronutrients (such as fat and protein) and micronutrients (such as vitamins) in line with common international standards.
A typical family food pack contains cereals (rice, wheat, maize, sorghum or millet). Pluses include lentils, cowpeas, beans and yellow split peas.
Where possible, we aim to source food from local suppliers.
