European Refugee Crisis
Muntada Aid has launched an emergency EU Refugee Crisis Appeal, to help EU refugees who are in need of desperate help and life-saving supplies. Initially we will be focusing our aid relief in Belgrade and Budapest by delivering thousands of food, water and hygiene packs to refugees.
EU refugees are very tired, weak and hungry; some are suffering from health problems. Young children, families, older people and those who already have poor health are currently sleeping in the streets of Europe, outside the train stations and in temporary camps on the outskirts of capital cities.
Since the start of 2015, over 300,000 refugees have crossed the Mediterranean. This represents a large increase from last year, when around 219,000 people crossed the Mediterranean during the whole of 2014.
Already this year over 2,500 refugees are estimated to have died or gone missing this summer, trying to reach Europe.
Muntada Aid believes that more needs to be done by the UK and other European countries to help these innocent victims of war and political unrest.
